MANJUL

Manjul is an Indian political cartoonist. He is drawing cartoons since 1989, and have often faced issues with editors and govts.

After working with major Indian publications like Dainik jagran, Rashtriya Sahara, Financial Express, India Today, The Economic Times and Daily News and Analysis currently he is contributing for various Indian publications & websites. He is also a winner of Maya Kamath Memorial Awards for Excellence in Cartooning 2009.

1. Do you ever feel unsafe or threaten to be satire in country where criticizing government become unwritten crime. A. Yes. It has become very unsafe for anyone who has a critical opinion about the govt. There is an atmosphere of constant fear and self-censorship. 2. Where do you see Indian TV news channel after 5 years ? A. TV news channels have already become propaganda tools for the govt. They will keep doing the same no matter who is in power.

3. If you have to make your party what will be it's Name & Symbol A. I am not interested in joining politics or working for any political party. 4. What is most shocking fake news you come through? A. There are so many of them on a daily basis. I am usually shocked if I get any real news these days. 5. What is your opinion on the increasing of depression and suicidal rate among teenagers. And who is responsible and how can we tackle it. A. I'm sorry but I am not the right person to answer this question. Depression is a very serious issue. So is suicide. I doubt I have the knowledge or the ability to comment upon the subject.
